Sandie Purcell (b.1982)

Sandie Purcell is a fiddler and composer from Kill in County Kildare.
Sandie has been performing and composing music in a variety of styles for many years. Sandie holds a BMus from DIT (Dublin Institute of Technology) and an MA in Humanities (Composition) from St. Patricks College (DCU).
She received great encouragement over the years from her fiddle teachers Mary Greevy and Kevin Glackin.
In August 2007, Sandie published her first collection of Irish music entitled "101 Original Compositions of Irish Traditional Music by Sandie Purcell."
Many of these compositions can be heard on the debut album The Crooked Picture by her band Reelan which includes the Clare concertina player Sharon O'Leary.
Sandie currently works as administrative assistant in the Irish pipers club Na Piobaire Uilleann.
