About this website

This website is dedicated to celebrating the great composers of traditional Irish music. Many people don't realize that a large amount of the traditional Irish tunes commonly played were composed by known composers, many of them in the 20th Century and even more recently.

This is only a summary website and unfortunately we haven't had time to fill in biographies for every composer and the ones we have done are by no means definitive and may contain errors for which we apologize.

The website is in no longer being updated due to a lack of resources and time. We are keeping it here as an archive but it will no longer be updated or modified.
